Human Resources Generalist - City of Helena

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of confidential and complex human resource duties for the Department. The incumbent supports the Human Resources Director and leads the department in employee relations to include administering disciplinary policies and procedures, assisting employees on disciplinary issues and developing performance improvement plans; administering leave (FMLA, sick, vacation, etc.,) and workers’ compensation matters; serving as the City of Helena’s Safety Coordinator; reviewing and drafting personnel policies, assuring compliance with personnel policies and procedures, providing direction and clarification on policy interpretation; supporting union/association-management interactions; organizational development to include administering and managing the City’s classification and compensation plans, succession plans, and employee training.

Human Resources Specialist - City of Helena

The purpose of this position, under general direction of the Human Resources Director, is to perform a variety of confidential and complex technical, administrative and human resource duties. This position administers the City’s employment/employee modules of the City’s administrative software system, and the City’s employee benefits. The position is responsible for administering and communicating with employees in accordance with federal law and City policy. The position works with the Human Resources Director on issues relating to process improvement projects, policy changes, special projects, and other similar functions as requested. The position works with internal and external stakeholders to administer each program with the highest level of customer service. The position is responsible for developing wellness and employee recognition programs and participates in a variety of special projects within the department and performs human resources duties as assigned.

Volunteer Opportunities - American Red Cross

The Red Cross is looking for many volunteers to help them meet their mission to serve our communities.  Two current needs that HR professionals would be uniquely well qualified for are:

1. Services to the Armed Forces - contact designated family members and explain the process and resources available to service members through the Red Cross when emergency situations arise.  Volunteers work remotely and typically are asked to do 1-2 hours a week.

2. Blood Donor Ambassador Onboarding and Training - interview potential volunteers to make sure that the opportunity is a good match for both sides, provide clear expectations, and enrolling in training.  Volunteers are remote and typically are asked to do 1-2 hours a week.
