Sergeant Noal Petty of the Helena Police Department has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of commuinication. He will share the importance of verbal communication as it relates to de-escalation and it's many facets.
During the seminar, Petty will discuss topics such as body language, the Arts of Translation and Representation, communication barriers, and safety and professionalism.
De-Escalation is a method to prevent potential violence. Individuals are encouraged to use purposeful actions, verbal communications, and body language to calm a potentially dangerous situation. Your safety and the safety of others is the highest priority.
Speaker Bio:
Sergeant Noal Petty taught a de-escalation and verbal judo with City of Helena staff from the Transportation Division. Sgt Petty has instructed several of these trainings not only to our Officers, but also to other city staff, businesses and citizens. He also teaches classes on active shooters and our Run.Lock.Fight class.
