The Nominees:

Amanda Hawley, Kalispell

A Plus Health Care - Regional Director

Amanda has had a commitment to providing guidance and her knowledge throughout each of our branches in Montana.  She is dedicated to mentor leadership to succeed and grow within the company.  Her professionalism shows in her work daily.  She brings a positive culture to our work environment.

Angie Benedetti, Helena

City of Helena - HR Generalist

Although I have only had the opportunity to work with Angie since the summer of 2024, it has been an absolute pleasure to learn from her, grow from the insights she has shared, and witness firsthand what it means to approach work with genuine enthusiasm. Her contagious energy creates an environment where it's impossible not to feel motivated, engaged, and excited to expand my HR knowledge. Angie consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to her work, her colleagues, and the broader goals of the City. Her support and compassion are truly invaluable, and it is incredibly refreshing to have her as part of our team.

Cassie Hall, Helena

Helena Diocese - Director of Human Resources and Safe Environment

Cassie displays an exceptional ability to diffuse conflict and see the various sides of HR issues. I would use Cassie as outside counsel, but I always find that Cassie is abreast of developments in HR issues and the law. Her approach to issues is pragmatic and empathetic, placing the employer’s needs in the proper context.

Diana Piccono, Helena

Montana Department of Transportation - Human Resource Manager

She has been a part of the Helena SHRM organization for many years and has helped many with their careers. She is an amazing role model and an outstanding HR manager. She is always willing to help anyone and offers solid guidance for those seeking assistance.

Joanna Halland, Helena

Rocky Mountain Development Council - Human Resource Director

Joanna has been an invaluable member of the Helena SHRM Board since 2018, currently serving as the Certification Director. Her contributions to the local HR community are remarkable; she actively helps individuals achieve SHRM certification and oversees the approval of continuing education credits for various events. Joanna’s commitment to supporting others is often behind the scenes, yet it plays a crucial role in fostering growth and development within the HR community. Her dedication and leadership have made a significant impact on those around her.

Rebecca Petrovich, Helena

City of Helena, HR Specialist

Rebecca is an outstanding contributor to our office, consistently bringing fresh ideas, valuable insights, and a positive energy that elevates the workplace. I find myself learning something new from her each day, and it is truly a pleasure to work alongside her. Whether through her engaging personality, her thoughtful gestures such as bringing treats for the team, or her willingness to embrace new challenges, Rebecca consistently offers support to those around her. Though relatively new to the HR profession, she is eager to take on new projects, address employee inquiries, and assist her colleagues in any way possible. Her dedication to personal and professional growth is evident, and she continues to make a significant impact on our team.

Renee  McMahon, Helena

City of Helena - HR Director

I have had the privilege of working under the leadership of Director McMahon for over two years. Renee consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to every aspect of her role, whether it involves fact-finding, data analysis, negotiating with union representatives, engaging with employees, or managing various initiatives that benefit both the City and its workforce. She exemplifies what it means to be a true HR professional: poised, knowledgeable, compassionate, honest, and an unwavering advocate for what is right.

Renee fosters a culture of success within her team by developing Professional Development plans through local and statewide SHRM training programs, ensuring we participate in regular staff meetings, and maintaining active involvement in major projects, daily tasks, and the overall operations of the HR department. Her leadership has profoundly impacted my life. Renee's genuine care for the City, its employees, her team, and the future of HR is evident in everything she does, leaving a lasting legacy that will endure beyond her tenure.

Shannin Danko, Helena

Department of Commerce - HR Generalist

Shannin Danko has been an invaluable member of the Helena SHRM Board since 2022, currently serving as the Diversity Director. She played a pivotal role in developing the 2023 and 2024 Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity Conference in Helena, MT, which has become a cornerstone event for the organization. In 2024, it was the most profitable event for Helena SHRM, allowing the board to fund future grants for various initiatives. Shannin's hard work and dedication have significantly strengthened the Helena HR community, and her efforts will continue to enhance the future of Human Resources in the area.
