The presentation will cover the most common wage and hour violations and how to prevent them. We will look at the statutes and rules relating to these violations and how to avoid making these errors. We will also touch on what happens when a wage claim is filed and what employer can do to assist in the process.

Theresa was born and raised on a ranch in Highwood, MT. She attended Montana State University on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship. After 20 years in the Air Force, she returned to Montana. Theresa started a second career with the State of Montana. She spent nine years as a Wage & Hour compliance specialist. She then moved to the Dispute Resolution Section Manager, where she mediated a variety of labor issues including wage claims, independent contractor violations, and workers’ compensation issues. In December 2022, Theresa was hired as the Compliance Bureau Chief, overseeing safety consultation, safety compliance, workers’ compensation regulations, onsite inspections, and business compliance.
