The ADA Interactive Process...Beyond the Basics!
Presentation Description:
October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, and it’s only fitting that our Helena SHRM chapter celebrate this month with an in depth look at the ADA and an important concept under the ADA, the interactive process. Upon completion of this interactive, one-hour training, participants will 1) recognize a reasonable accommodation request, 2) assess whether an employee has a disability under the ADA and whether the employee is entitled to the requested accommodation, 3) explain HR’s role in the interactive process, 4) explain management’s role in the interactive process, 5) assess whether an employee’s requested accommodation is reasonable or not, 6) examine the undue hardship and direct threat defenses under the ADA, and 7) value the importance reasonable accommodations play in creating a disability-inclusive culture within an organization.
